Night of Wonders 2016
The third annual gala to benefit the BC & Yukon Chapter of The Children’s Wish Foundation of Canada - which took place on Thursday, March 31st, 2016 - truly lived up to its name as a Night of Wonders.
This stunning evening, presented by Pacific Blue Cross, saw guests enjoy an unforgettable culinary experience from Edible Canada. Autoform Performance was transformed into a unique and magical gala space, which was filled with nearly 200 of Vancouver’s most glamourous and generous business luminaries.
The audience was brought to its feet in a standing ovation when Wish Child Ida Yang performed “Nataliana” on the harp she received as her wish. Guests bid generously on 5 live auction lots, including an Edible Canada Yukon Whisky Dinner, which host Fred Lee auctioned off twice after a bidding frenzy inspired Edible Canada President & CEO Eric Pateman to donate a second package. They also gave from the heart after wish mom Natasha Prokosh shared her family’s story.
All told, the evening raised $250,000 for Children’s Wish, which will support their mission of granting wishes for Canadian children aged 3-17 who are facing a life threatening illness.
The Children’s Wish Foundation of Canada works with communities across the country to provide children with life threatening illnesses the opportunity to realize their most heartfelt wish. By creating unique, meaningful experiences, Children’s Wish enhances quality of life for these courageous children and their families.
- We have granted nearly 25,000 wishes across Canada over the past 31 years.
- We are a Canadian charity with Chapters in every province & territory.
- The B.C. & Yukon Chapter approved over 150 Wishes in 2015 alone.
- We receive no government support and are entirely funded by the generosity of individuals, corporations, community groups and foundations.
- We have never denied a wish to an eligible child and have no waiting list.
